Finance Manager
Location: AutismUp at the Golisano Autism Center, Rochester, New York
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday with an occasional weekend as needed
Salary Range: $62,400 - $68,640
Position Summary: The Business & Finance Manager is a key member of the Business Office team, responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records. This role involves overseeing accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and budget preparation. Additionally, this position may assist with payroll preparation and other critical accounting functions to ensure compliance and support the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursements
- Process and manage accounts payable, including vendor invoices, credit card spending, and mileage reimbursements.
- Ensure all expenditures are properly authorized, recorded, and coded to the appropriate accounts.
General Ledger Maintenance
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including bank statements and other key accounts.
- Monitor and ensure the integrity of financial data within the accounting system.
Budget Preparation and Monitoring
- Assist in the preparation and development of the annual budget, working with department heads to gather input and review budget requests.
- Provide financial support for grant applications and reporting, ensuring compliance with grantor requirements and spending is properly recorded.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports and other ad hoc reports as needed.
- Support the preparation of annual audits and year-end reporting requirements
- Complete the necessary OPWDD reporting per the contract requirements.
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of federated campaign donations, matching gifts and donor advised funds.
Payroll Preparation (as applicable)
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant labor laws and organizational policies.
- Complete benefit deductions and monitor medical insurance billing.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and practices is preferred.
Program Support Coach
Location: AutismUp at the Golisano Autism Center, and other locations in the community
Hours: Part-time, afternoons, evenings and weekends
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside participants to help with achievement of individual goals and objectives
- Supervision and safety of program participants
- Support the Program Facilitator and the objectives of the program
- Assist the Program Facilitator in the social development and behavior management of participants
Qualifications:
Passion for working with children with different abilities 2+ years of childcare experience High School education, some college preferred.
Lifeguard and Swim Support
Position Summary: The Lifeguard and Swim Support Staff is responsible for ensuring the safety of participants in and around the pool. The lifeguard's primary duties include monitoring swimmers, preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and providing first aid or rescue assistance when necessary. In addition the staff assists swimmers by providing guidance, encouragement, and safety support during swimming activities.
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Hours per week: Part-time, afternoons, evenings, and weekends (flexible schedule required)
Areas of Responsibility and Duties:
- Constantly observe swimmers to detect potential risks or unsafe behavior.
- Ensure prompt action in case of injuries or emergencies, including evacuating the area if needed.
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that motivates and supports swimmers.
- Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for all participants by adhering to pool safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard certification (such as from the American Red Cross) and CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred. Experience in swim instruction or water safety training is also preferred.
- Ability to work with people Ability to swim proficiently and demonstrate swimming techniques.
- Physical stamina to actively participate in and lead lessons.

- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Physically able to maneuver safely throughout the pool
- Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs
